Welcome to The Cranky Press
The Cranky Press is a private press devoted to publishing the work of smart, cynical curmudgeons whose astute observations of human nature provide ample and amusing material with which to learn the craft of letterpress. While the Press’s primary mandate is the entertainment and edification of its proprietor, it serves also as a venue to learn, share and preserve knowledge of letterpress techniques, and to celebrate the beauty of the printed page as an art form.
Originally established as Titania’s Press in 2003, its proprietor’s interests have evolved over time. With recent research and work on the texts of Ambrose Bierce, the proprietor of The Cranky Press discovered a kindred spirit, and recognized immediately that this was to be the future of the Press.

Congrats on the new press name and blog…love it!
Looking forward to the press items that get cranked out (boo…hiss…). We (or maybe just I) need to refocus for the OPG project and have a meeting soon!
BTW, picked up the Folio edition of the Devil’s Dictionary and read a few definitions at least once a week.
